I would strongly recommend Terry Dumdei, of the Right Key Productions, as a sound technician for any and all events large or small.
My wife and I have a been performing in Broadway shows, National tours and concert halls for nearly twenty years and have experienced more than our fair share of nightmarish sound and audio glitches. When were asked to perform in Flagstaff for a fundraising event, we had some concerns about the venue we were to perform in. It was a large dead sounding conference room with a low ceiling and we weren’t sure if we would be able to have any kind of decent sound at all. To make matters worse the load in time was just hours before the performance.
Terry took it all in stride, designing quickly and expertly on the spot. Using every piece from his considerable arsenal of sound equipment Terry delivered us a great sounding PA as well as a nice, clear monitor mix. It impressed me that he first made sure that we had what we needed in our stage monitors before he worked on the house mix. He also insisted on a set of wired mics set off stage to back up our wireless, just in case any wireless mics failed during performance (They didn’t) We had a sound check with both sets of mics, thus further assuring the performance would come off with out a hitch.
Terry understands what the performer needs in order to do their best work as well as what the audience needs to hear in order enjoy the performance.
