The EastSide Show – The Other Art Walk
The EastSide Show highlights local artists and vendors in a monthly community event and provides many forms of art in one location. Grown from a passion for the arts, community and music education, Bonnie Dumdei, co-owner & administrator of Flagstaff School of Music forms ‘The Other Art Walk.’
Held on the third Saturday of each month at Flagstaff School of Music & White Dove Coffee, this family-friendly event runs in open-house fashion and starts at 1:00 PM & ends at 8:00 PM. This art walk sets itself apart from the First Friday Downtown Art Walk in that at the EastSide show the community experiences a variety of art forms from month to month, the show takes place in one location, lacks alcohol and other mature themes, and occurs on a different day and time than First Friday events.
Our neighbor business, White Dove Coffee provides the stage for local musicians, instructors, and our students (of all ages) to perform, groups with presentations to share, and a local band to end the fun.
The music school offers the perfect venue for those extra-ordinary artists to set up a booth to display their form of art or service. We provide support via social media marketing, tables & chairs for vendors, encouragement and mentoring for those that desire, and grow their network, and to sell their items.
The EastSide Show gives these local artists a chance for the community to enjoy music, and find hand-crafted items made by neighbors and friends. It is a great place for art groups to perform in front of an appreciative audience. It supplies an opportunity for students, and other musicians to become performance ready, as a part of our music school philosophy.
Those interested in joining the show as a vendor or performance act should contact Bonnie at 928-268-1108 or send an email to Bonnie@FlagstaffSchoolofMusic.com. We always need more local representatives and members of the community with an art form to share.
The Strange Addiction Band will be this month’s featured band. They will be performing music from many genres from 6-8 PM.
Jewelry by Aracelli is usually on hand, photography from Rob Dutton, as well as a few other artists showcasing their specialties.
